Production of Copper in Q2 2024

Significant changes have been observed in the worldwide copper mining sector during the second quarter of 2024. Significant output increases have been observed by companies like as MMG, Antofagasta, Ivanhoe Mines, and Teck Resources as compared to the first quarter of 2024. MMG produced 90,972 tonnes, a remarkable 35.52% increase in output. Production at Antofagasta increased by 20.02% to 155,300 tonnes. Production at Teck Resources increased by 11.52% to 110,400 tonnes, while production at Ivanhoe Mines increased by 16.95% to 100,812 tonnes.

Not many well-established businesses fared as well, as evidenced by the 8.37% rise in production to 504,900 tonnes that BHP Group needed to maintain its lead. With a 4.42% decrease in production, Freeport-McMoRan’s output dropped to 470,375 tonnes. Glencore and Lundin Mining also had declines, with 7.01% and 9.44%, respectively.
