This week at MinExpo in Las Vegas, Komatsu unveiled two brand-new mechanical haul trucks to the North American market: the HD465-10 and HD605-10. The new vehicles are made with the intention of helping aggregate, mining, and quarry applications become more productive while also enhancing fuel efficiency. From the previous eight models, both provide an improvement.
A 60-ton rigid frame vehicle with a large payload capacity and effective carrying skills is the HD465-10. With a sturdy structure and a weight capacity of 70 tonnes, the HD605-10 mechanical haul truck is built to last.
Both trucks include an ergonomic cabin for operator comfort during extended shifts and a compact turning radius for smooth navigation on small haul highways. The machines are designed to deliver exceptional speed on grade, with higher-strength steel allowing for lower operating weight and improved horsepower.
The car’s independent front suspension, akin to a MacPherson strut, enables it to smoothly handle uneven roads. Other features include two fuel-efficiency modes—”economy” and “economy light”—that allow for controlled downhill descent and automated retard speed control.
Hill start assistance, throttle lock, a retractable sun visor, and a waiting brake are among the new operator features.
Complete LED light packages, plastic resin wheel chocks, maintenance-free batteries, brake performance checks, and ground-level Komatsu oil and wear analysis (KOWA) sampling ports are examples of beneficial maintenance components.
