The Marion 8200 is a cable-operated electric excavator that was transferred from the United States to Australia. It is one of the largest mobile land-based machines ever built.
This massive dragline was originally manufactured by the Marion Power Shovel Company in the United States. Designed to meet the demands of the mining industry, it was one of the largest draglines in the world when first introduced.
Weighing over 7,000 tonnes, the Marion 8200 is equipped with a boom measuring over 100 meters in length. It can dig to a depth of up to 80 meters and move up to 120 cubic meters of material in a single operation. These capabilities make it an exceptionally efficient machine for mining projects requiring extensive earthmoving.
