The Copper Mountain is an open pit copper gold porphyry deposit located in British Columbia, Canada, specifically at 20 km south Princeton and 300 km east of Vancouver, in the Similkameen mine district.
The mine is owned both by Copper Mountain (75%) and Mitsubishi Material Corporation (25%). It is one of the largest Copper mines in Canada that produces Copper concentrate with gold and silver.
Over 17 years of mine life, it will be producing:
- 5 billion pounds of copper.
- 450,000 ounces of gold.
- 5 million ounces of silver
The mine mainly focuses on two aspects:
- Maximizing production and minimizing costs.
- Continue to explore the resource and attempt to make copper mountain a world class copper mine.
